IER has been providing CUSS kiosks in SFO’s International Terminal since 2007. IER recently installed 84 new CUSS kiosk positions, grouped in desks with a very unique design. The new CUSS units are entirely customized in design to match the terminal’s distinctive architecture.
The new units utilize standard CUSS components from the standard IER 919 CUSS kiosk. The new kiosk positions offer self-tagging and full ADA compliance. IER worked in close cooperation with the airport and its architects to conceive the unique kiosks which were built in the United States.
Rick Thall, who led the project for the San Francisco International Airport explained that “the form and function of the custom units were designed to fit with the airports’ REACH initiative (Revenue Enhancement And Customer Hospitality) aimed at shaping SFO’s long-term passenger experience”.
